BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 8, 2026) – Rico Abreu’s six-digit payday count has been steadily increasing, and with Skagit Speedway’s annual Skagit Nationals officially in the books, accompanied by a $126,000 top prize, Abreu can now bump his tally to four – his second six-digit score in the last two weekends including Silver Dollar’s $100,072 Gold Cup on August 29.
Abreu, the ace of Tony Stewart’s Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR), Carquest, Curb Records, Sugarbee Apples, Waste Connections, Arc Zone, Martin One Source, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, No. 24 sprinter, secured his Skagit Nationals triumph from the front row, earning his way into the weekend’s big dance via back-to-back podiums – finishing third and second, respectively – in Skagit Nationals preliminary competition on Thursday and Friday, September 3-4.
No easy feat, Abreu was forced to battle Tanner Thorson for his eventual Skagit Nationals crown, swapping the lead on several occasions before locking down the top spot for the final time on lap 26. Adding to Abreu’s stat sheet, the Skagit Nationals victory was a third consecutive for the St. Helena, California, native and reigning High Limit Racing champion, now with six High Limit wins in nine Series starts at Skagit Speedway.
