BROWNSBURG, Ind. (August 31, 2026) – St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu was all but perfect in his three-day visit to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California, cashing in on not only a Gold Cup preliminary main event victory on Thursday, August 27, but two days later, he did it again, this time for a $100,072 top prize in the weekend finale on Saturday, August 29.

Abreu, now with three $100,000 or more victories over the course of his career, secured his Gold Cup championship in dramatic fashion, powering by Brent Marks following a restart with a handful of circuits remaining. Incidentally, Abreu’s triumph in the aforementioned preliminary outing was accomplished in almost the same manner, this time taking charge with two-to-go after commencing action from ninth on the grid.

As noted, Abreu, the driver of Tony Stewart’s Carquest, Curb Records, Sugarbee Apples, Waste Connections, Arc Zone, Martin One Source, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, No. 24 sprinter, was all but perfect in Chico with his only defeat occurring in Friday’s preliminary feature – he finished second from 13th.

With all results considered, Abreu’s High Limit Racing win tally now sits at 31 – the most all-time. The reigning Series champion now sits atop the standings with a 50-point cushion over Aaron Reutzel.

Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2026 High Limit Racing campaign with an early week visit to the Douglas County Dirt Track in Roseburg, Oregon, on Monday, August 31, followed by the three-day Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway in Burlington, Washington, on September 3-5.
