BROWNSBURG, Ind. (August 2, 2026) – The High Limit Racing schedule may be on hiatus, but St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) are not, launching their massive August slate with a visit to the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, August 1.
Rico, the ace of Tony Stewart’s Carquest, Curb Records, Sugarbee Apples, Waste Connections, Arc Zone, Martin One Source, Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts, No. 24 sprinter, made the most of his Iowa road trip, concluding the Weiler Salute to the Lasoski Family with a jump to the top of the podium. The reigning High Limit Racing champion started the 25-lapper from seventh on the grid, powering his way forward before taking command from Brian Brown with five to go – the score earned Rico $11,500+.
“You never know how these things will turn out,” said Abreu in Victory Lane. “It shows you how unpredictable sprint car racing is. Twenty-five laps non-stop…you just have to catch your wind. These are such confidence boosters as a racecar driver, just to come from High Limit races over the last few weeks. On the final night, we missed the feature at Port Royal, another half-mile, so I was really eager to get here and redeem myself.
“What a great effort from Brian Brown to put something up with short notice for the Lasoski Family,” Rico added. “I always mark this race on my calendar. I consider it a tune-up for the Knoxville Nationals.”
