Schatz rallies to the podium at Eldora Speedway; Posse triple on deck

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (May 5, 2025) – Ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz did Donny Schatz things on Friday night at the world-famous Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, not just earning his top result of the season, but doing so in fantastic fashion. In fact, the Fargo, North Dakota, native and ace of Tony Stewart’s Carquest, Advance Auto Parts, Curb Records, Martin One Source, No. 15 sprint car rallied eight positions to accomplish said feat, crossing under the final checkers as the second best competitor.
Schatz, the owner of five runner-up finishes in his last six attempts at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track, launched his evening with the 14th-fastest time of 34 entries, racing on to finish third in his respective heat race. His combined effort during the evening’s preliminary events ultimately landed Schatz a spot on the outside of row five.
“Everything seemed to be working tonight,” Schatz said following Eldora’s main event. “We could really run anywhere, the top, the middle, the bottom. Making strides out of here really helped. It was fun to be able to see the leader and kind of get to him and pick through lapped traffic. That yellow really helped. We took off really good. I guess when the air pressures went down under yellow it helped a ton and got a few spots, but the longer I ran the worse I got.”
Dubbed #LetsRaceTwo weekend, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series visit to Eldora Speedway was intended to be two days, but Mother Nature had other plans, eventually ruining all hope for action on Saturday, May 3.
ON DECK:
Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2025 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a visit to Central Pennsylvania, joining the Pennsylvania Posse in starts at Lincoln Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 9-10, respectively.
