BROWNSBURG, Ind. (October 4, 2022) – Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing certainly know their way around Williams Grove Speedway, and the reigning Knoxville Nationals champions certainly proved that point yet again during the recent weekend, ultimately capping the weather-shortened National Open preliminary with a top-ten appearance. Schatz, a ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, finished eighth in the 10-lap affair, climbing ahead from the outside of row seven.
A fourth-place finish during qualifying heat races sealed Schatz’ position in the $10,000-to-win program.
Continuing their Central Pennsylvania invasion, Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will now set the compass for Port Royal Speedway, ready to tackle the high-paced half-mile in the annual Nittany Showdown on Friday and Saturday, October 7-8. The two-day affair will award a total winner’s share equalling $25,000; $10,000 on Friday and $15,000 on Saturday.
Schatz will enter the Juniata County Fairgrounds gates with a trio of victories on the season, one of which the aforementioned Knoxville Nationals at the world-famous Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. The Fargo, North Dakota, native remains fifth in the World of Outlaws championship standings padded by 49 top-ten finishes in 61 starts.

As mentioned, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with the two-day Nittany Showdown at Port Royal Speedway on Friday and Saturday, October 7-8. Port Royal’s Nittany Showdown, featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, will award $10,000 and $15,000, respectively.
