BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 16, 2019) – Three nights at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, eventually resulted in three consecutive top-ten performances for the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car team, and although Columbus, Indiana’s Tony Stewart was only present for one of the three top-ten outcomes, the ‘Steel City Outlaw’ Tim Shaffer filled-in for the boss well and helped achieve the team’s best performance of the weekend; a charge sixth to third during ‘The Night Before The Knittel’ on Friday, September 13.

Only participating in Thursday’s ‘Speedweek: Reloaded’ program due to NASCAR commitments in Las Vegas, Smoke opened the weekend with an eighth place finish on September 12, advancing two positions after starting tenth on the $5,000-to-win starting grid.

Although his podium run on Friday highlighted the entire weekend for Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, Tim Shaffer concluded the three-day, All Star Circuit of Champions campaign by finishing tenth during the $12,554-to-win Dean Knittel Memorial finale on Saturday, September 14. Shaffer earned his way into the 30-lap, five-figure blockbuster by finishing third during his respective heat race. There were 39 cars in attendance.

“I can’t thank Tim Shaffer enough for stepping forward and helping us get through the weekend,” Tony Stewart explained, who owns nine sprint car victories in 2019. “Tim is a talented guy. If anything, I should probably allow him to drive more often so I can learn from him. All-in-all, a great weekend for the team. Hats off to the Knittel family for building such a great event at Atomic Speedway.”

Upcoming plans for Tony Stewart remain uncertain. Fans should stay alert on social media for continuing updates.
