2019 World of Outlaws Championship Standings: 1st – 8192 points (ten point lead over Brad Sweet)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 16, 2019) – The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series concluded their second and final West Coast Swing of the 2019 season on Saturday evening, September 14, and despite the long hours, high miles and stout competition, ten-time and defending World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, as well as the current Series point leader, Donny Schatz, concluded his last weekend in California with a trio of top-ten performances, highlighting all three with a runner-up finish at Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, California, on Friday, September 13. Schatz kicked-off his evening at Stockton with the fastest time during qualifying time trials, all before advancing four spots to bump from sixth to second during the evening’s A-Main.

Although just missing a second consecutive podium appearance, Schatz put together another convincing run and finished fourth during his visit to Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, California, on Saturday, September 14. Starting seventh on the grid, Schatz advanced three positions during the Wine Country Outlaw Showdown, and despite his title-rival Brad Sweet finishing second, Schatz left the West Coast with a ten point advantage in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings.

Technically, a tenth place outing at Placerville Speedway on Wednesday, September 11, activated Schatz’ final week in the Golden State.

“We still have a long way to go,” Donny Schatz expressed, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 15 sprint car. “It was good to leave California with the point lead, but there are a lot of races left on the schedule. I’m fortunate enough to work with a team that is always thinking ahead and planning the next step. We are not going to be satisfied unless we win the title.”

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their World of Outlaws championship quest with a doubleheader at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas, on Friday and Saturday, September 20 & 21. Resulting in his 20th World of Outlaws victory of the 2018 season, Donny Schatz is the defending Outlaw Boot Hill Showdown winner in Dodge City.
