BROWNSBURG, Ind. (February 12, 2019) – After a successful start to his 2019 sprint car campaign that included an All Star Circuit of Champions victory at Bubba Raceway Park, Tony Stewart continued his season with another busy weekend in the Sunshine State, this time entering four-straight events across two classes of sprint cars. The four-race weekend resulted in success for the three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, earning three top-ten finishes during his four starts, two of which podium runs amongst national-level 360 sprint car competition.

Stewart, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car, kicked off his third weekend of Florida fun with a two-race stint at Volusia Speedway Park on Wednesday and Thursday, February 6 & 7, rejoining the All Star Circuit of Champions for back-to-back $5,000-to-win programs.

Continuing a competitive trend against the traveling All Stars, Smoke won each of his respective heat races, automatically qualifying the open wheel veteran for each of the 30-lap contests. Although Wednesday’s result was a slight disappointment, fading to 13th after starting fourth on the feature grid, Stewart rebounded in a big way on Thursday and finished seventh after starting sixth, earning his third All Star top-ten performance in five Series starts.

With All Star Circuit of Champions action complete, Tony Stewart turned his focus west and made the trip back across Route 40 to Bubba Raceway Park where the Columbus, Ind., joined the United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder Tour for their segment of Winter Nationals competition on Friday and Saturday, February 8 & 9.

Already a success story within the USCS 360 sprint car ranks by earning multiple victories in 2018, Stewart padded his statistics with back-to-back podium runs at the Ocala oval, ultimately proving to be one of the most consistent competitors in action. Two nights equalled two heat race victories for Stewart, as well as two-straight runner-up performances during the nightly dashes. Stewart’s consistency did not halt there, eventually highlighting the weekend with a runner-up finish during main event action on Friday, soon followed by an impressive rally from 13th to finish third on Saturday.

“We are out here having a lot of fun and I owe it all to my team. They have been working their tails off trying to figure things out and I think we are on the right track,” Tony Stewart explained. “When you can be competitive and find yourself up front on a consistent basis, that’s when things really start to click. We have a lot going on over the next few weeks so hopefully we can keep this trend going.”
Tony Stewart’s upcoming plans are uncertain. Fans are encouraged to stay alert via social media for further updates.
