BROWNSBURG, Ind. (October 29, 2018) – It was an afternoon to remember for Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart Racing, not only securing their 21st victory of the 2018 season, twice the total of the second-leading winner on the circuit, but also scoring one of the largest paydays of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season – $51,513 to be exact.

Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Textron Off Road/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/No. 15 sprint car, continued his title quest with a visit to Central Pennsylvania for the 51st running of the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway. Despite being forced to wait an extra day due to Mother Nature, the delay did not impact the Fargo, N.D., native, ultimately scoring the $51,000+ winner’s share over a stout field of 51 competitors.

Starting fifth on the main event grid, the nine-time and defending Outlaws champion commenced his charge toward the front in a hurry, eventually snagging the second position from Central Pennsylvania front-runner Lucas Wolfe on lap 22, just before earning the top spot from WoO championship contender Brad Sweet on lap 32. The winning move was a signature one for the now three-time Port Royal Speedway feature winner, utilizing the bottom groove to drive under Sweet at the entrance of turn one.

“That felt like a 500-miler,” Schatz said with a chuckle in victory lane about the caution-filled, 50-lap main event. “My team is incredible at what they do and it’s pretty cool to win that big money with them. Anytime you win in Pennsylvania it’s big and this is a big one.”

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart Racing will cap off their 2018 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series championship campaign with back-to-back nights of competition at the season-ending World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. Two rounds of World of Outlaws qualifying will take shape on Thursday, November 1, followed by back-to-back programs on Friday and Saturday, November 2 & 3.

Schatz will enter the weekend with a 278-point command in the title chase. With that said, just showing up to the World Finals will solidify a tenth championship with the Greatest Show On Dirt.
