BROWNSBURG, Ind. (August 27, 2018) – Certainly another consistent weekend for the nine-time and defending World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz continued his trip west with the Greatest Show On Dirt with another set of podium finishes, this time finishing second and third during a pair of starts in South Dakota and Montana, respectively. For Schatz, the podium sweep added to a statistics chart now enhanced with 48 top-ten finishes during 50 World of Outlaws starts, 39 of which occurring inside the top-five. Impressive enough, Schatz continues to dominate the World of Outlaws championship standings, now with a 236-point advantage over Grass Valley, California’s Brad Sweet.

“We pride ourselves in our ability to remain consistent no matter the obstacles we may face,” Donny Schatz said, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Textron Off Road/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/No. 15 sprint car. “We had to come from pretty far back on Friday to remain podium-consistent. I work with the best crew in the world. My part is the easy part. They do all of the work and continue to show the world why they are the best.”

Perhaps his most impressive performance of the weekend, Schatz rallied from the outside of row five to finish second on Friday evening, August 24, at the Black Hill Speedway in Rapid City, S.D. Utilizing a lap 18 restart, it was then when the Fargo native made his move, actually propelling himself from ninth to second in just two circuits after the restart.

Although nearly sweeping action at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont., on Saturday, August 25, setting the evening’s fastest time during qualifying time trials before winning his respective heat race, Schatz was forced to settle for third after starting fourth on the grid. Incidentally, Schatz also finished third during his visit to Big Sky Speedway in 2017.

Labor Day weekend will certainly be action-packed for the defending World of Outlaws champion, now aiming at three events in four days across the great state of Washington. Schatz will join the Greatest Show On Dirt at Skagit Speedway on Friday and Saturday, August 31 & September 1, followed by a one-day visit to the Grays Harbor Raceway on Labor Day – Monday, September 3.
